Mount Moriah Lodge A.F. & A.M. joins new DOMINICAN ORDER OF FREEMASONS

 

As of today, December 21, 2021, the Winter Solstice, Mount Moriah Lodge No. 52 officially changes its name to MOUNT MORIAH LODGE OF ANCIENT, FREE, AND ACCEPTED MASONS, and becomes one of the five regularly-constituted blue lodges to leave the Grand Lodge of the Dominican Republic and to sign as one of the constituting founding blue lodges of the new DOMINICAN ORDER OF FREEMASONS, MASONIC GRAND LODGE OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 2021.

The constitution of the new Grand Lodge is scheduled to take place tonight in a hotel in Santo Domingo with the attendance of several outstanding Brother Masons of the Dominican Republic and other countries.

We will be reporting on the event in the next several days.

MM52 donates toys to underprivileged children on Epiphany Day

Brother Gabriel Medina, from Mount Moriah Lodge No. 52, coordinated the donation of toys to underprivileged children of the Sabana Perdida neighborhood in Santo Domingo on Epiphany Day (Three Kings' Day).  This donation has been done yearly since 2011 under the coordination of Brother Medina.  Through this activity, MM52 puts into practice brotherly love and philanthropy towards the neediest sectors of society.

Dominican Masons contribute to the relief of hurricane victims in PR and DR


Members of several lodges in the Dominican Republic (including Mount Moriah No. 52) donated several truckloads of items for the relief of hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and the north coast of the Dominican Republic.   The relief effort was coordinated by Brother Gabriel Smester from Worshipful Eugenio Maria de Hostos Lodge No. 51.  On behalf of Mount Moriah Lodge No. 52, the effort was coordinated by Past-Master José Frías.

Lodge holds Fraternal Luncheon



Mount Moriah Lodge No. 52 held a luncheon on January 7th with the attendance of 25 persons (lodge members and family members). All had a good time in preparation for a wonderful year of accomplishments in our lodge.

El domingo, 6 de noviembre de 2016, E.V., se efectuó la iniciación de dos nuevos miembros de Mount Moriah Lodge No. 52, al grado de Aprendiz (Entered Apprentice) del Rito York Antiguuo de la masonería.  La ceremonia, llevada a cabo en lengua inglesa, recibió la visita de miembros de varias logias hermanas.

English-language Masonic lodge in Santo Domingo

Mount Moriah Lodge #52 is the only regular Anglophone blue lodge in the Dominican Republic. It welcomes brethren visiting from regular Grand Lodges included in the List of Lodges Masonic by Pantagraph Publishing, or Grand Lodges recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England.

It also welcomes anyone interested in learning more about Freemasonry and possibly petitioning for membership in the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world.

Our lodge meets for regular communication and/or instruction on the first and third Sunday of every month. Meetings are held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Red Temple of Freemasons' Hall, located at Arzobispo Portes 554, at the corner of Las Carreras, Ciudad Nueva, in Santo Domingo.
